My friend Mathias Grassow has just dropped a new album, commemorating the atrocities of WW I and WW II. I am still on a first listen, but while it's a departure from his usual style I am positively overwhelmed how deeply his music speaks and how much he manages to communicate with purely instrumental music.
To me the music conveys much more emotion than many theoretical texts are able to, or - on a very different level. The beautiful thing is that he does not leave us with all the pain, but also gives us release.
Please, give it a try and if it does speak to you, do buy the album. I have the feeling that this may be one of the most impressive releases I have encountered for 2019. And one of the most important. I will need to listen deeply.
