After only seven years, it appears my trusty Fairphone 2 has snuffed it. The red light glows, but it does not charge, and refuse to wake up. :(

happened to me as well last year! It might have been fixable with a new battery, but I wasn't able to test first. The microphone was broken as well... :/

I have two batteries, and same result with both. Have also checked several different chargers and cables. Might be possible to repair, but at the moment I don't have time to wait for that (and the parts I need may not be available anymore.)

Is it perhaps the charging port that has to be swapped?

Might be, but as the led is glowing, I think it's probably a bit deeper in the system. Main module or motherboard. But I have access to another Fairphone and will test if swapping any parts makes a difference.

Godt å høre at noen har gode erfaringer med den! Det har dessverre ikke jeg.

Hmmm, my several FP2 and batteries are still charging, but I realize nevertheless they're gettlng older (and Android 9 to 11 give more battery drain than Android 7...)

Yeah, I've noticed that too. The batteries did not last as long as they used to with the latest updates. Having a decent external battery pack has been useful.

Har hørt ymse fra andre også, men både min og samboeren sin har fungert rimelig greit frem til nå. Merkes at det ikke er nyeste modell, men for det meste av vanlig bruk har den vært helt fin for meg.
