This Norwegian flick features the well known (in Norway) artist/singer Kari Bremnes, and has a plot that definitely could
have been very interesting. A devastating mining accident in Spitsbergen, cold war politics, and a conspiracy kept hidden by all states involved. The story is centered around a busy news desk, complete with the grumpy editor, the neophyte reporter having to prove himself, and the brilliant, but alcoholic star reporter bending the rules and doing things her own way. Still I feel this film does not really fulfil it's promise. The performances are lacking, and both the story and the characters never come fully alive.
