I am putting together a website #self-hosting for amateurs - a guide for non-tech people (like me) to get into self-hosting. It is a work in progress and I am still at the very beginning (building a logical structure, collecting infos/resources etc.). If anyone has tips/suggestions/links etc. I'd be very thankful if you'd share with me.
Thank you @Haakon Meland Eriksen (Els Mussols) it is already on my list.
There two issues I struggle with explaining:
1. How does one estimate the workload in order to figure out which hardware would be suffizient? Is there any kind of formula?
2. Security. What are the do's and dont's one should explain to non-tech people
1. Self-hosting - stress on self - if it works for just you, then you are okay (you alone or just your family).
2. Security - do not explain anything, give sensible defaults.
Yea you are right. I should aim for single user use and basic information.
