VINYL: Maybe it's time we had an intervention.
If you love vinyl, then you should demand for it to be modernized.

I agree with him, but the reason vinyl has returned is that artists need to earn money and selling things is the only way (right now at least) and vinyl is more durable than CD (which is also plastic). I have had to buy vinyl simply to get the music from some local bands :)
That said, if people would start buying digital from sites that actually offers the artists a good deal - or let me refrase
a reasonable deal
- I am all for that. The music should be downloaded. Bandcamp is one of those places - so I buy digital there. When you compare with streaming vinyl again seems quite healthy and environmental, but like this guy and everybody else I often listen to music on Youtube. Not Spotify though as they have raised the abuse of the artists to new levels.
Thanks for the link! That was interesting to watch!

One of my favorite labels:

They chose the technical way of utilization of polyvinyl chloride:

Wow. A very well done overview and expansion on the vinyl vs. discussion. It sums up a lot of what I have been thinking (vinyl is "hifi" without being true to the original) and expands on the environmental impact even deeper than I ever cared to. And the additional health impact ... I hope he succeeds in creating awareness!
I don't own too many records and don't own a record player ATM. I am planning to buy one, but mainly to create flacs from those records that are not available in any other format. Which is a thing especially for some small and indy labels that specialize in what I like to call "bibliophile" editions. Hand printed covers, coloured singles, a cover made out of metal plates or furry fabric ... But that again is something I really treasure and what does set the physical domain apart from the digital.
